Chapter Eleven

LIAM GBADAGESIN glared at the phone in disgust as if the object offends him. But no, it's just the news he just received that's making him to act as such, the doctor has finally confirmed his wife pregnant and it appears she is not feeling well at the moment, he refused to accept that what he felt is guilt for leaving her at the crucial moment that any couple should share together.

"But she caused it, so why should I feel bad about my decision” he muttered to himself. He has not called her since his plane landed in London, as he buries himself in his work and meetings with clients. He came into his hotel room to freshen up for the dinner date he has with one of the clients, when he received the doctor's message. His father also sent a message telling him to call back, he wondered if the old man his not feeling well again. He decided to call back before going for his dinner; he was mildly surprised to hear that his father wanted to talk to him about his pregnant wife.

"I don't know what could be more important than your wife, at this crucial moment, you are meant to be celebrating this joyful news together, but you are not here. The poor girl is not feeling well, son please come home as soon as you have cleared all your business over there, and this girl deserves your attention." He admonished. "Father I will try to come home soon, but in the mean time I know you will take care of her, just try to understand that I need to finish my business here first." He gently told his father before ending the call.

He slipped on his black suit jacket over the pristine white shirt and added his cufflinks, stepping in front of the mirror to check his appearance, before tucking in and putting on his Rolex wristwatch, a check at his time confirm he is not running late for the dinner. He has called his old time lady friend who resides now in London to be his date, it won't look good for him to appear alone. The business deal is very important for his company, landing this deal will not only be a major thing for his company but for Ijomo as well.

Someday he will be king, though he prayed it's not anytime soon but when the time comes he needs to make sure he is ready to step in to his father's shoe, he needs to do more. He also needs a dutiful wife by his side, that was his plan but Lola kept disrupting his plans, he is in London far away from her but still her thought kept occupying his thoughts. The only solution is to find another worthy one after she delivers her baby— though the thought of letting her go leaves a bitter taste in his mouth— but before he divorce her, she will pay for disrupting his life with her doleful eyes.
